Q. Do You Take Vans in Part Exchange?

A. Yes we do.

We understand that many of our customers need to sell their existing van for

• logistical reasons – you can’t fit them both on your drive and you can’t drive them both at the same time
• financial reasons – you need to settle the existing finance outstanding and/or need to release the equity in the van

Just give us the details of your existing van and we’ll value it for you.

Q. Will I Get a Fair Valuation?

A. Always.

We use industry barometers such as CAP to value your vehicle and we’re happy to show you what CAP says about your vehicle.

Many customers see a van similar to theirs advertised on the forecourt of a local dealer or on the internet and of course conclude that their van is worth the same as the price on the windscreen.

Firstly the dealer is advertising the price in the windscreen however it is likely that he will need to discount it when negotiating with the buyer.

Secondly the dealer has included a margin in the sale price so that he can earn a living and pay the overheads in the business. Therefore the dealer will have bought the van for £1,000 - £2,000 less than the advertised windscreen price.

In summary, customers will not achieve the same price for their existing vehicle by selling it to the motor trade as they would selling it privately.

However customers find it difficult and time consuming to marketing their van and our fair market value is a convenient solution.

Generally we send part exchanges straight to auction and therefore only achieve trade values ourselves. We incur collection and auction fees to process the part exchange. We do not seek to make a profit on part exchange vehicle sales and our valuations are therefore as high as any in the trade.

Q. Do I Need To Send You The Part Exchange Vehicle?

A. No.

We will collect at the same time as the new van is delivered or shortly afterwards. You will need to ensure that the vehicle is secure and available for collection at the given time. The current MOT Certificate and V5 must be made available too.
