Coming to the end of your Hire Purchase or Finance Lease Contracts?
You may be coming to the end of your finance agreement and may be wondering what to do with your existing van.
If youve had your vehicle on finance you will own the vehicle unencumbered when you make the last payment. If the van is still running well then perhaps there is no impetus to change. However if your finance has a scheduled balloon payment at the end then perhaps this may cause a cashflow problem.
Some finance, whether on HP or Lease, can be structured with a final payment that is designed to reduce the monthly outgoing to a more manageable amount for the customer. The final payment should have been set to a figure that at least meets but does not exceed the market value of the van. In this instance the customer can sell the van if necessary to generate funds to make the final balloon payment.
The problem comes when the balloon is set too high at the outset and the van is worth less than the final payment. This puts the customer in a NEGATIVE EQUITY situation.
Those customers finding themselves needing to trade in their end of contract vans perhaps with a negative equity position should call one of our experienced sales staff about affordable solutions. We regularly solve this sort of problem for our customers and at the same time put them into a new van.

The Nissan NV200 goes head-to-head with the likes of the Citroën Berlingo, Volkswagen Caddy and Ford Transit Connect. The NV200 will sport Renaults 1.5 dCi diesel powerplant. Nissan LCV Sales Director, Tony Lewis said the NV200 was a truly sector-breaking van that focused on cargo space, value and comfort. He said: From the B pillar forwards its a car and after that its a van.
The Nissan NV200 van will be available, with E and SE grades. E features ABS brakes as standard, along with electronic brake distribution, driver airbag, one-third bulkhead, manual windows and immobiliser. SE adds electric windows and mirrors, keyless entry, a full bulkhead and drivers seat height adjustment.
The Nissan NV200s real strength comes in its size. Although it looks like a standard small van, it offers a load volume of 4.2 cubic metres more than in the old Citroën Dispatch and has a tight turning circle for urban manoeuvring but will carry two Euro Pallets. Load length is 2,040mm while height is 1,358mm. Gross vehicle weight, meanwhile, is 2,000kg, while payload is a respectable 752kg.
The Renault engine hardly needs any introduction as it graces most of the French makers cars and vans.
The Nissan NV200 truly breaks all the old segment rules its a small van that has big van capabilities. The drivers seat is perched up high, which means that for multi-drop users, getting in and out is very easy. It gives excellent views of the road ahead and makes the NV200 feel bigger than it really is. The passenger seat folds down to allow extra cargo space and theres also a little desk on the back, which should prove useful now that white van man is expected to carry out all sorts of other tasks.
